Along with the logical and technical design process, there’s also the subjective and experiential design process. Here, architects are more empathic to the needs of the users, finding meaning and a narrative beyond just mere utility.
It’s not about having an articulate design language only to fill the conversation with jargon and colorful words filled with shallow understanding. Rather it is a strong sense of the client’s journey to their most ideal lifestyle, venturing into the inner workings of what memories they cherish and how we can recreate more of those experiences through architecture.
Building a home is not an ordeal, it is an opportunity to live out more of our best memories, encourage good habits and capture our ideal lifestyle.
Can’t even remember the last time I just sat down and had nothing on my mind.
Or the time you spent all night playing board games. Exploding kittens, anyone?
I like Japanese Architecture not just for their aesthetics, but more of what they stand for: Utility, Simplicity, Beauty and Story.
Furnish your home, slowly and carefully: linen table mats from grandma, hand-carved
chopsticks from a local artisan, fresh flowers from your backyard. Find meaning and avoid hoarding!
Sure! You’re excited to jump in your new home, buy everything in a 1-day shopping spree. But should you really spend just 10 minutes choosing something that you’re gonna use for the next 5 - 10 years? Save 10,000 on something you’re gonna look at for a long long time? Put things in perspective, think about your quality of life over price and time.
